The Movement Project’s Monthly Newsletter

Welcome to the February edition of The Movement Project newsletter! We’re thrilled to kick off this month with an influx of new members joining our vibrant community. To our newcomers, we extend a warm welcome and hope you’ve already found your rhythm in our classes, experiencing firsthand the transformative power of functional mobility and strength training. As we continue to grow, we’re committed to ensuring that every individual feels supported on their journey towards a happier, more active lifestyle.

Cookies and Safari Browser

We have had a few members struggling with booking and cancelling classes, and have discovered that it is those of you that are using Apple products and the Safari browser. Fear not! If you encounter any technical difficulties, simply switch over to Google Chrome, or there is an option to download the TeamUp app in the app store onto your mobile or we have a link which will help you bypass the cookies that are causing all the problems! https://goteamup.com/p/6007291-the-movement-project-corn/

Finally if you are still struggling email us and we can try and help you and Andrena is able to help as well.

T-Shirts

We’re excited to announce that our stylish T-shirts are in the final stages of design, and we’ll soon unveil a webpage where you can pre-order your preferred size and colour.

In the spirit of fostering a smooth and inclusive experience for all our members, we kindly request that you cancel any class reservations on the Team Up app with at least 24 hours’ notice, if you find yourself unable to attend. This thoughtful gesture not only ensures that you retain your class credit but also opens up coveted spots for members eager to participate.

Shower Block & Sunray Cafe

The exciting new developments that will leave us all fresh ´n´ clean and wonderfully replenished following workouts will officially start the last week in February, during this time there will be the usual destruction before construction and therefore we ask for your understanding during this process, Head Foreman Peter ‘Pippy’ Head along with his sidekick and visionary philanthropist – Stu – will be doing their absolute best to keep it as ‘undisturbing’ as possible!

* Please note, whilst building works are in place we will be utilising the referee’s single toilet through the fire exit via the right hand side door.

Attendance

With classes in high demand, we kindly ask for as much notice as possible if you’re unable to make a session. Some of our classes have a waiting list so there will be members waiting for your place if you can´t make it, as much notice as you can possibly give would go a long way in ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate. We have recently changed the cancellation timing from 12 to 6 hours and increased the waiting list allocation from 30 minutes to 1 hour, so hopefully both of these measures with your help will mean everyone gets to participate.

Do you Know?

We are on the hunt for a second Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Our ideal candidate holds a Class Coach qualification from a relevant, regulated physical exercise training body such as REPs, UKSCA, NSCA, or CFL1. Experience with free weights, powerlifting, and Olympic lifting would be preferred.  If anyone knows of a potential applicant please let us know at hello@themovementproject.co.uk

Kernow Killer – Obstacle Course Event – 14th April

Andrena is currently on the recruit for people to join in on the highly popular and exciting event that is ‘Kernow Killer’. This annual event involves a run done at your own pace as a group and a series of fun obstacles to cross and overcome. Think of an outside jungle gym for adults. Anyway, if you would like to get involved please email Andrena at: drenahead@gmail.com saying ’Sign Me Up!”, if there are enough numbers we will enter a team (Stu included!) and harness our inner Royal Marines 😉

Entry fees are £70 for the Adult 10km, £50 for the Adult Thriller 5km and £30 for the 2.5km.  Note … ¨These are not races – they are challenges aimed at pushing everyone to their own limits. The secret to success is using teamwork to get through the courses. This is all about rocking up and having a go! Nothing is timed but every single one of you who has a bash will be rewarded with a unique participant T-shirt, survivors medal, access to our photo gallery and that amazing buzz of being able to say, ‘I was there!!’¨
