Philosophy

Realigning mindsets and bodies, TMP takes mass media training hype and turns it on its head. Removing ego, aesthetics and fat loss, we believe that looking good is a powerful by-product of feeling good. As such, we leverage body weight, mass and gravity to help everyone improve their mobility and prevent injuries. The activity will change, but the mission stays the same: strengthening movement and improving ranges of motion are the foundation for everything we do.

Background

Following studies incorporating physiology, psychology, biochemistry, biomechanics and nutrition, former Royal Marine Stu Slater cut his training teeth in some of London’s best-known gyms, including Third Space and Gymbox. Forever indebted to the exceptional coaches who influenced his career, The Movement Project was born. With over fifteen years of experience, Stu’s mission is to bridge the gap between science and training, fix injuries and give everyone the tools they need to maintain a happy and active lifestyle.

Approach

Arguably the most innovative training space in Cornwall, we ensure we understand the specific needs of the people standing in front of us, what we need to enhance and how. TMP provides interlinked multi-disciplinary training to build movements and help people of all levels and capabilities progress their fitness and ability. Unlike traditional gyms, we work from systems, not emotions. Accomplishing what we offer through passion and drive, tangible change is at our core.

Andrena

Spin aficionado Andrena lives and breathes cycling. Newly qualified, she's passionate about sharing the transformational power of spin. Her energetic classes fuse beats with empowerment, offering a fiery and rewarding workout. Join her to discover your spin passion!

Craig

With a passion for wellness, Craig leads invigorating spin classes that cater to all fitness levels. His nurturing approach empowers everyone to thrive, regardless of where they begin. Beyond the gym, he explores Cornwall with his family and adventurous dog. Craig's qualifications include cardiac rehabilitation and lower back pain specialisation.

Jaz

Rooted in dance and fitness, Jaz infuses her classes with infectious energy. From cardio cycling to SUP fitness, she seeks balance and pushes boundaries. Her mission is to empower you, embracing fitness and equilibrium.

Jen

Our passionate spinning/indoor cycling instructor. With a background in running and triathlon, her commitment shines through. Jen's not just an enthusiast; she's an occupational therapist, lecturer, and music lover. Her tailored workouts match beats, from 90s grunge to drum and bass. Expect a diverse, exhilarating experience that fuels your workout!

Kate

Kate's journey from flexibility struggles to becoming a yoga teacher embodies growth. She believes yoga fosters balance on and off the mat. Kate offers diverse classes, from gentle restorative practices to invigorating vinyasa.

Roz

Has been teaching yoga for the past 4 years. She first started yoga to help with her mental well-being post pregnancy, as well as to support her marathon training and truly believes that it helped her remain injury free throughout. She teaches a Vinyasa hybrid class to help with co-ordination, strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Matt

A spin class regular for the past eight years, Matt has recently qualified as an instructor and is now keen to share his love for indoor cycling. His high-energy workouts are focused around building strength and endurance and are paired with a mix of chart hits, classic rock, and drum and bass.
